LSM OUTREACH

LSM Outreach is a registered Community Interest Company (C.I.C. 13501392) which provides free music scholarships for children in the community of Tower Hamlets.

As this is one of the most deprived London boroughs, our tuition is intended for premium students from lower-socio economic backgrounds.

Currently we are teaching weekly free guitar, drums and piano lessons to 34 children at Cyril Jackson Primary School. In addition to instrument tuition, LSM Outreach students get to play their instruments in bands, attend masterclasses with renowned musicians and perform at London School of Music concerts hosted twice annually.

OUR

MISSION

"After having successfully run London School of Music for over 8 years, I decided we needed to give something back to our local community. Without a doubt it was to teach our lessons to children of disadvantaged families in Tower Hamlets. That's why I created LSM Outreach. At LSM Outreach we are passionate about music and education, and we want our excitement for music also to reach the most disadvantaged. Our main goals are improving access to music education to children of low socio-economic background families, improving mental health of children through music and spread the joy of music in our local community."

have to say about our lessons!

I enjoy guitar because it is very calming. Sometimes you can pick up a guitar if you are in a bad mood and it makes you feel better as it change how you feel. You can also go to concerts.

Zayd (Year 4)

I like guitar a lot as it is a new instrument. I had never played an instrument before and its the first time I have been taught something like this.

Suhan (Year 4)

Stay informed with our latest development on LSM project and other community outreach

We are thrilled to share some exciting news with you! LSM Outreach is expanding our music program at Cyril Jackson Primary School in Tower Hamlets by introducing a brand-new drumming class for the students. This incredible addition is made possible thanks to the generous volunteering efforts of Tony Bourke, who has dedicated his time and expertise to bring drumming lessons to life. With this new addition, we will now be teaching 8 students drums, bringing the total number to 32 children receiving weekly personalised lessons.

Currently, we are offering free weekly guitar and piano lessons to 24 children at the school, and the impact has been incredible. Music has the power to inspire, empower, and transform lives, and we are committed to ensuring these opportunities remain accessible to all.

We also want to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the parents and students who donated at the LSM Winter Concert 2025 and also to our sponsors Bistrotheque, Avery Residential and DWD Ltd. Your generosity has played a vital role in making this expansion possible.

Thank you for your continued support and belief in the power of music education. With your help, we can create a brighter future for these children through the gift of music.
