Michael is the founder and director of London School of Music. He has been a drum tutor since 2004. Michael first started teaching the drums at Drumstudies in Rotenburg, Germany. Since moving to the UK in 2008 he has been a drum tutor at The Rhythm Studio, at All Talents Music School and at East London Drum School. Recently Michael has toured China twice teaching masterclasses as part of a teachers training program for Music Miles.
Throughout his musical career Michael has performed at international festivals, radio and TV stations such as Lovebox Festival, Kerrang! Radio and MTV. His great musicality, technical versatility and positive attitude have made him the drummer of choice for many UK artists. Michael is an endorser for Sonor, Vater and Remo.

Nate Simpson’s career has spanned many areas of the music industry, including his roles in the smash hit West End musical ‘Motown’ as Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, and Berry Gordy. He has also played Simba in ‘The Lion King’ in Paris, a national Tour as Nat King Cole in ‘The Crooners. His years in the industry has seen him perform live on national television and radio both in his own right as an artist and as background vocalist, In 2016, he reached the final 6 boys of the X factor UK, going on to achieve national airplay with his debut single and playing a host of high profile gigs in everything from arenas, to for the 2012 Olympics and festivals both nationally and internationally. His exceptional voice and unique and soulful artistry has afforded him opportunities such as to perform for HRH Prince Charles, and has play on line ups that have included the likes of stars, Corrine Bailey Rae, Beverly Knight, Jamie Cullum, Jessie J, Jacob Collier, Boy George and Many More building him a great international acclaim!
Piano and Violin
Harriet Bill is a classically trained pianist and violinist as well as an experienced teacher. She studied at King’s College London and Trinity Laban Conservatoire; her areas of expertise include performance, improvisation, musical theatre, theory, and music history.
Alongside teaching, Harriet performs in a wide range of settings and venues which in the past has included the Royal Albert Hall and Royal Festival Hall in London. Whilst she enjoys performing, her main passion is teaching. She follows an individualistic approach with all her students to ensure they enjoy their lessons whilst reaching their full potential with the instrument.
Ivan Panella is a professional drummer and a very passionate teacher. With more than 10 years of experience both in the studio and touring, he is specialised in many styles such as Rock, Funk, Hip-Hop, Jazz and many more. Ivan has been touring and playing Festivals with various Artists in most of Europe, the UK, USA, Russia, Japan as well as South Africa and other African countries.
He is currently playing with his own band TheBeanZ who are based in Italy and with local artists such as London singer/songwriter Olly Chamberlain, Rough Stone and London based South African singer Toya Delazy.
Dan is a session musician and teacher with over a decade of performing and recording experience. Since graduating from the London Centre of Contemporary Music Dan has performed with and recorded for a variety of artists and toured all over the world including three tours in South Africa.
Dan currently plays for up and coming pop singer Olly Chamberlain, multi instrumentalist, electronic jazz artist Leifur James and rock band Don't Feed The Animals.

Originally from The Netherlands, Koen moved from Berlin to London in early 2019. Besides teaching for many years, Koen has been touring and recording around Europe with many different bands and projects.
After graduating in the Netherlands in 2014 it was time to move to Berlin, this resulted in playing a lot of jazz and live electronic music. With a background in jazz/rock and major influences from electronic music, Koen is a very versatile and passionate teacher.
Doug Cartwright is a guitar and bass tutor, specialising in modern techniques, applied harmony and theory and improvisation. As well as teaching over 500 students since 2005 as a private tutor and for schools including The Rhythm Studio, IGF/Ministry of Guitar and ICMP, his instructional material has been published by Lick Library, Guitar International Magazine, The Sound Magazine and others. Doug’s most recent release is the 2018 album ‘Shadow Self Psalms’ by his band Amid the Barren and Lost, which Metal Hammer magazine described as “a new British metal gospel”. He performed all the guitars on the album, as well as recording and producing it.

Joe Armer is a guitarist, composer, and educator based in London. A professional Jazz and Classical guitarist with over 4 years teaching experience, Joe graduated from the University of Bristol with a First Class Honours Degree in Music (BA) in 2017. Joe’s specialisms lie in guitar performance but he also has an extensive background in music theory, composition, and musicology. Classical Guitar, Jazz, Brazilian Guitar music, music theory, and improvisation are particular areas of interest to Joe. His teaching philosophy takes a holistic approach, tailoring each lesson to the individual student’s needs whist making each lesson fun and engaging.
Alejandro is a classically trained pianist and composer.
He started studying music at a very young age in his home country and finished his master’s degree at Kingston University.
Alejandro has a passion for musical theatre and film and often collaborates with film makers and directors composing soundtracks for films and theatre as well as sound installations for artists.
He teaches piano, music theory and music technology to children and adults from the age of 21.
Derrick McKenzie has been the drummer of British Funk/Acid Jazz sensation Jamiroquai since 1994, recording more than eight albums and touring the world for over 20 years with them. Derrick's unique sound and groove has played a key role in Jamiroquai's music and he is considered as one of the finest British drummers.
London School of Music has the honour of having Derrick McKenzie as a guest tutor. Next time Derrick will be taking a break from his busy gigging schedule with Jamiroquai to teach at London School of Music will be in April 2020 (date TBC).
Julien did his music education in the National Conservatoire of Versailles in France, in classical piano. He always kept a close relationship to jazz music, and developed his improvisation skills through various Master Classes or live practice. Julien moved to the UK 5 years ago and is the piano Chair-holder of the Mojazz Orchestra big band, performing in various venues in London.
Julien is also a composer and produces his own music. He is open to new technologies, synthesizers and music production as a whole. Teaching has always been a major part of his classical music training. Julien understands the challenges presented by music and is very keen on transmitting his knowledges to make his students grow.
A Parisian born professional singer and all-round performer, Anna was raised by her two opera singing parents and started to perform at the age of 3. She studied classical singing at the Conservatoire National de Paris, performing as a child soloist through different line-ups: concerts and recordings with the Paris Choir, in trio with the Company Opera Autrement, while composing her own songs American-Soul music, a genre she will quickly prefer to classical. Though still practising classical singing, she now performs with her own band her originals, and in solo or different line-ups, a broad repertoire of covers. Always very keen to share her knowledge and help students develop their own style and personality, Anna has been teaching for 15 years to students from 4years old to 80 years old, in Paris and now at LSM.
Vocals and Guitar
Katherine is a vocalist/songwriter with over 10 years of experience in teaching. Since graduating from The ICMP with first class honours she has toured with theatre productions throughout Europe including her own independently created show, performed as the lead vocalist for Disney Cruise Lines and held an 8 month residency in Beijing. Her original work has reached the no.1 spot twice
on Dance charts, and she has performed at venues throughout the UK and Ibiza including Ministry of Sound and Shepherds Bush Empire.
Her teaching credits include Dancebites, Artemis, Song Academy,
Ravenscourt Stage School, ICMP and The Rhythm Studio. She also takes music into Chelsea & Westminster and St Mary’s hospital – a position that she has held
for 7 years.
Vocals and piano
As a teenager, after years of music education, and training as a classical pianist, Violeta decided to become a full time musician and went on to study pop and jazz vocals at Vilnius Conservatory in Lithuania, where she was born. She has performed in various festivals and city concerts and has also worked as a session singer. An experienced and confident performer, she's taken part in several international contests in Europe (winning in Sweden, Spain and Latvia).
During her vocal journey she gained experience in various styles from jazz to rock. She moved to London in 2014 to take her career to the next level. In 2017 she finished a BMus in Popular Music Performance (Vocal) at BIMM London and in 2010 she completed her Bachelor of Music Pedagogy in Vilnius.
